We consider the annual House of Lords Spring Reception to be one of our most exciting and successful events and 2023 will be no different. The event promises timely, future focused speeches, excellent networking opportunities and of course great
food, all enjoyed against the backdrop of the historic, prestigious location. This is an occasion for members and guests of British Water to network, harness strategic collaborative opportunities and promote their business to key industry
figures.

David Black has been Chief Executive of Ofwat since April 2021. Since becoming Chief Executive, David has focused Ofwat on driving the sector to improve performance for customers and the environment, boost financial resilience of water
companies and to better prepare for the long term challenges facing the sector. Prior to becoming CEO, he was Chief Regulation Officer at Ofwat and led the 2019 price review, securing significant investment to improve resilience
and protect the environment, alongside lower bills for customers. This included the development of strategic new water resources, competitive procurement for new infrastructure and challenging companies to significantly reduce
leakage and pollution. David joined Ofwat in 2012 as Director of Economics and became a Senior Director in 2015.
Prior to joining Ofwat, David held a number of roles in economic consulting, advising on economic regulation, competition and financial economics in the communications and energy sectors. He has also worked at Oftel, New Zealand Treasury
and New Zealand Commerce Commission.
