Water Industry Forum operates as a neutral and independent subsidiary of British Water.

The Water Industry Forum tackles challenges facing the UK water sector through thought leadership and facilitated collaborative working. It does this by providing a forum which is both independent and neutral, enabling multiple stakeholders to come together to share ideas and develop solutions.

The Water Industry Forum is provided by Water Industry Forum Limited which operates as a subsidiary of British Water with robust governance arrangements to preserve its independence and neutrality.

Member briefings are provided around new and upcoming cross-sector challenges in the form of webinars and seminars.

Sharing experience of meeting current challenges

Webinars, seminars and roundtables provide opportunities for members to both learn from other members and external expert speakers, and to share their experiences around specific cross-sector challenges.

Identifying the challenges to focus on

Key cross-sector challenges for the forum to focus on are identified using a combination of member surveys and follow-up interviews.

Tackling the priority challenges

The Forum uses a variety of approaches to tackle key cross-sector challenges. These include, as appropriate, surveys, roundtables, private dinners, specialist groups, targeted workshops and competitions.

Sharing the outcomes of our work

Outcome are shared with members in the form of publications, case studies and/or briefings.

Water Industry Forum Team Challenge for Young Water Professionals

This annual competition offers an opportunity for young professionals from different member organisations across the sector to come together into multi-stakeholder teams to work on a specific cross-sector challenge theme.

Water industry Forum Water Profs Workshop & Dinner

The annual ‘Water Profs’ Workshop & Dinner provides the opportunity for the combined expertise of 25 of the brightest research minds in the UK water sector to focus on a particular industry challenge.

Water Industry Forum Impact Awards for UK Water Research

These awards shine a light on academic research work that has had a real impact - as judged by a cross section of stakeholders drawn from British Water membership.

Water Industry Forum Debate

Senior industry figures take part in an online debate for and against a motion linked to a current water sector challenge.

The Objectives of the Water Industry Forum Are:
