LOUISE ELLIOTT | WSPLouise is the Strategy & Business Growth Director for the UK Water business in WSP with over 20 years’ experience in the sector. In this role she oversees the strategic growth of the water business and delivery of new initiatives and service offerings. Louise brings a breadth of knowledge from across the water industry and has developed excellent relationships with an extensive network of contacts within the global water sector, focusing on identifying needs
in the industry and matching these to strategic solutions across WSP. Before joining WSP, Louise was the Business Development Director for Isle utilities, an innovation consultancy in the UK, were she was instrumental in the growth of the business within the UK water industry and globally.
Louise ElliottStrategy & Business Growth Director JEAN SPENCER | WATER INDUSTRY FORUMJean has over thirty years’ experience in the water sector, including fifteen years in various financial and regulatory roles with Yorkshire Water and fifteen years as an Executive Director of Anglian Water. Experience at both companies included the development of strategic business plans and price reviews from PR94 through to PR19. Jean has a particular interest in water resources planning, having chaired the development of Water UK’s 2016 Water Resources Planning Framework, and water efficiency, having chaired Waterwise’s Water Efficiency Strategy group for ten years. Since retiring from Anglian Water in 2018, Jean has been the Independent Chair of the Environment Agency’s National Framework for Water Resources. Jean is a Chartered Accountant by profession.
Jean SpencerDirector ANDY TURNER | ENVIRONMENT AGENCYAndy is a Water Resources Manager for the Environment Agency and has worked in water resources and integrated water management for the last 32 years. He has worked for local, regional, and national teams and has helped to shape policies and advise on the development of legislation for water resources planning and for abstraction licensing both in England and internationally. Andy’s team is responsible for the development of the Agency’s National Framework for Water Resources which sets out how major sectors of water use should respond to the water resources challenges of the future so that there are secure water supplies and a better environment.
Andy TurnerWater Resources Resilience Manager BETH CORBOULD | OFWATBeth is an experienced senior leader with a background in economic regulation and policy. She is currently the Ofwat Director responsible for water resources and environmental planning, including Ofwat's £100m Water Efficiency Fund. Previously, Beth was Head of Competition and Enforcement at the Civil Aviation Authority. Earlier in her career, Beth worked in the Office of Rail and Road, and state government roles in Australia.

Calie Rydings is a senior technical writer and client manager at WiseOnWater, a specialist media and communications agency. She is also lead content creator for Make Water Famous - the world's first public-facing positive news platform all about water. Previously, Calie was media manager at Southern Water, where she led a multimedia press and social team and spearheaded award-winning collaborative campaigns around FOG awareness with CC Water, and bathing water
quality with the Environment Agency. She also oversaw the promotion of innovation and capital investment and managed crisis communications. A former national business journalist, Calie has also worked as a social media manager at a non-profit, and a senior national press officer for one of the world's oldest and largest charities. An accomplished TedX speaker, Calie has also appeared on Channel 4, BBC and Sky News as a spokesperson for a diverse range of issues including water resources and pollution.
Calie RydingsSenior Technical Writer DR CHRIS SWEETAPPLE | UNIVERSITY OF EXETER Dr Chris Sweetapple is a Research Fellow in the Centre for Water Systems at the University of Exeter, where his research interests have led him to work on a range of projects related to the resilience and sustainability
of urban water systems over the last 13 years. He is particularly interested in capturing the benefits of ‘smart’ technologies in stormwater management, and is currently working on implementing catchment-wide real-time monitoring and control in a DEFRA-funded
Floods and Coastal Resilience Innovation Programme project. His experience also includes research into greenhouse gas emissions from wastewater treatment and the use of wastewater-based epidemiology to deliver wider public health insights, and he has worked with stakeholders from across the sector to develop new tools and methodologies that address how water systems respond to and recover from extreme events.
