Energy & Utility Skills launches Skills Strategy 2025-2030

10 October 2025   (0 Comments)

This strategy sets out a bold, evidence-based plan to ensure the UK has the skilled people it needs to meet the current demands and future growth ambitions of the energy, water, and waste industries.

Developed with their members and endorsed by more than 20 industry partners, it reflects the insight of those who understand our workforce challenges best and ensures our sector speaks with one clear, influential voice. Their 70 members employ over 200,000 people directly, support many more through extensive supply chains, and generate more than £120 billion in annual turnover.

The strategy has been structured around four pillars - research, attract, develop, retain - each with defined actions and outcomes and outlining what the sector must achieve over the next five years.

This is a living framework designed to deepen their work across all four nations, in partnership with governments, delivery bodies, and authorities.

'Skills to deliver the UK’s future’ is our commitment to building the talent and capabilities that will deliver for our economy, protect our environment, and support communities nationwide.'
