Invitation to take part in Water Industry Workforce Resilience research
As part of the sector’s Workforce Renewal and Skills Strategy, Energy & Utility Skills has launched a research project, focused on the water industry workforce, and they would like to invite you to get involved.
The goal of this research is to develop an industry-specific evidence base to underpin an action plan for a resilient workforce.
At this stage, Energy & Utility Skills would be keen to have informal discussions with a range of industry stakeholders. They are seeking to understand the most important drivers shaping the water industry and how the industry workforce may need to change and adapt in response.
These are likely to include:
•Transition to net zero •Response to extreme weather events •Economic drivers •Pressure on water resource management/ need to reduce water usage •Leakage targets •Community engagement and customer service •Digitalisation and rise of remote monitoring and automation
This will shape the industry Horizon Scan report, which will inform the next employer workshop to identify critical roles and skills to focus on.
