WRSE are delighted to share their draft best value regional plan for South East England for public consultation today.

They are consulting on the draft plan until February 2023, and you can read it and have your say on their dedicated consultation website: wrse.uk.engagementhq.com

They will be hosting a consultation webinar on 22 November 2022 from 13:30 to 15:00, where they’ll share more details of the draft regional plan. If you’d like to attend, please sign up by clicking here.

Delivering a range of benefits

WRSE's draft plan sets out the mix of interventions needed over the next fifty years to secure water supplies for the future. This includes reducing leakage and water consumption, together with long-term investment in new infrastructure. It’s a best value plan, which means they’ve considered a number of factors beyond just cost, so the plan delivers wider benefits to society and the environment.

The plan addresses the impact of climate change on our water resources and plans ahead for future population growth. It will increase the resilience of our water supplies to drought and help improve our environment by reducing how much water is taken from many of the rivers and streams throughout the region.

Water company draft Water Resources Management Plans

WRSE's draft regional plan has informed the draft Water Resources Management Plans (dWRMPs) of their six member water companies – Affinity Water, Portsmouth Water, SES Water, South East Water, Southern Water and Thames Water.

The companies will be carrying out statutory consultations on their individual dWRMPs over the winter. These are separate consultations, which explain how each company will secure supplies for their customers. Links to each company's website, where you can find out more, are set out below.
