Survey closes on Monday 5th September 2022 Global demand for environmental monitoring technologies and data systems is expected to increase, due to an increasing awareness of the implications of environmental pollution and change.
Tracking progress of long-term goals in environmental quality, animal health, waste, water management, nature recovery and other areas is crucially important. The Chief Scientific Adviser’s Office in Defra is scoping out what support the environmental monitoring sector needs to deliver products and services that Defra could benefit from. They would like to hear from a wide range of organisations about the opportunities and challenges faced by those working on environmental monitoring innovation, including the associated data systems that enable analysis of the data. They also want to know what actions government could take to help drive innovation. For example, would an innovation programme like the Transforming Food Production Programme have value, or would other forms of support, such as changes to regulation, or options for networking, benefit those working on environmental monitoring more?
