The water industry is currently preparing for the next 5-year Asset Management Period, AMP8, running from 2025-2030. It is widely expected that the investment programme for this period will be substantially larger than in the past, to drive environmental improvements and meet customer and stakeholder expectations. This larger investment programme may pose new challenges to the water industry and its supply chain.

Following earlier work led by the Water Industry Forum, Water UK, working in collaboration with British Water, has commissioned Stantec, working with Gardiner & Theobald, to assess the scale of the deliverability challenge for AMP8 and how risks to delivery could be mitigated. It is expected that the outcomes of this study will inform policy considerations by Defra and Ofwat in the spring.

Chaired by British Water’s CEO, Lila Thompson, the session will provide a safe space for open and inclusive dialogue.
