Women On Water Conference & Reception

28 September, London

In partnership with Jacobs, South West Water and Xylem, our Women on Water Campaign Sponsors, and in collaboration with FCERM, we are excited to announce our next Women On Water Conference & Reception which will take place on Thursday 28th September 2023.

Hosted by Jacobs, we’ll be bringing a diverse range of individuals in the water sector together to be inspired, hear practical tips, network and build connections.

We will be joined by a fantastic array of speakers, who will be sharing their ideas of what success looks like from the top, discussing how they have overcome challenges and imposter syndrome, and much more. We are delighted that Liv Garfield CBE, CEO of Severn Trent, will be providing our keynote address.

Our mission continues to be "Empowering Empowered Women" - to help women to see and seek out opportunities that will support them in their career and personal development. All are welcome to attend as we continue to work together to dismantle obstacles and barriers to increase diversity across the water and wastewater sector.

This reception will once again take place at the Cotton Centre in the heart of London, from 3-7pm. Drinks and canapes will be provided. We look forward to seeing you there!

Keynote Speaker - Liv Garfield CBE

Liv took up the reins as Chief Executive of Severn Trent, the Midlands-based water and waste company responsible for providing clean water and taking away waste water to around 8m people in the Midlands and mid- and north Wales, in 2014. Severn Trent is one of the three largest water companies in the UK, and is a member of the FTSE100.

Before this, Liv worked at BT for 12 years. Her last role was as Chief Executive of Openreach, the engineering division of BT. In this role, Liv was responsible for the delivery of one of the fastest and most ambitious deployments of fibre broadband in the world.

Before joining BT, Liv worked for Accenture, the management consultancy, where she spent five years in the retail and high-tech practices.

In October 2020, Liv was appointed a Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) in the Queen’s Birthday Honours for services to the water industry.
