Building Information Modeling (BIM) is a tool that is often mentioned in this context. But before the decision to use BIM and before the clarification of technical and operational details, a strategic decision must be made as to which goals are to be pursued with digital recording and control of the construction, operation and maintenance of water management infrastructures.
- Where and why should BIM be used?
- Does it have to be BIM or is there an easier way?
- What added value do I need and can I achieve?
- What about the construction of plants, network operation, underground infrastructure, hydraulic engineering?
You can expect keynote speeches from - Prof. Dr. Henriette Strotmann, Chair of Construction Management and Digital Building Cycle (BIM) at the Münster University of Applied Sciences, who is currently also looking at the added value of BIM from an interdisciplinary perspective
- Steffen Scharun, Head of BIM Principles and Development, DB Netz AG, who explains to us why DB Netz AG, as a large infrastructure operator, decided on BIM
- Jamie Mills and Clare Kovacs from BritishWater, who present use cases from England.
After the keynote speeches, there will be a panel discussion. We expect an exciting and controversial discussion. Because: BIM is not yet routine in water management and not a mass phenomenon. In the discussion, in which you can of course take part, we want to take up the various perspectives on digital infrastructure management.
