A leading UK process filter manufacturer has begun a strategic drive to grow business in Kenya.

Engineering experts from Amazon Filters are in the African country this month (April) in a bid to add it to their portfolio of export markets across the world. 

They have lined up visits to factories and production facilities in sectors such as water treatment, food and beverage, and pharma.

Sales engineer Gareth Davies and distributor partner Ian Thomas will meet senior plant and operations managers at companies in Nairobi and other industrial centres. 
  
Gareth said: “We’re looking to help prospective customers in a range of sectors that rely on robust filtration solutions for safety and consistency. 

“We aim to promote our expertise in designing and supplying products and systems that help to reduce the risks of contamination in gases and fluids while safeguarding operators and equipment.

“From our experience in other markets, we believe there may well be opportunities to grow business in Kenya from the sales of bespoke housings as well as filters.” 
 
Ian, a director of UK-East Africa business support consultancy Crested Crane Connections, said: “Kenya is seeing more and more investment in economic growth including on sustainable projects involving green hydrogen production and electric vehicle manufacture. 

“There are also many established industries such as brewing and bottling, pharma and vaccination manufacture which depend on safe process engineering. 

“Filtration systems play crucial roles in protecting many of the processes involved and so we are keen to meet as many managers and operators as possible to understand if we can help them and their sector activities.”
      
From its main production centre in Camberley, Surrey, 38-year-old Amazon Filters has built a network of sales offices and distributors around the world underpinned by organic year-on-year growth. 

More than 70% of the company’s total output of filters, housings and related safety equipment is now exported each year. 

International reach has most recently been bolstered by the hiring of new business development managers in both the Americas and Asia-Pacific regions. 

Amazon Filters has also appointed new partners and distributors tasked with pursuing sales growth in these territories. 

The company already has African partners based in Nigeria, Uganda and South Africa.
