British Water has established the Supply Chain Task Force in response to a stated desire from British Water members to try and secure a better deal for the supply chain by addressing blockers to prosperity. The Task Force will identify, assess and report on some of the key challenges that the water sector supply chain faces in the areas of procurement, innovation and cyclicality. From there, British Water will work with water companies and other stakeholders in the industry to share the supply chain’s concerns and mitigate the impacts of the challenges being faced.
This initiative is intended to run for the remainder of 2021, and is timed to coincide with Ofwat’s PR24 consultations, the post-Covid green recovery and the sector’s emergence from an extended AMP6/7 transition period. We are grateful for the involvement in the Task Force of members covering water companies, contractors, consultants, manufacturers, suppliers and other industry representative bodies – giving us a broad spectrum of experience and truly pan-industry mandate.
