Subscriptions provide access across the whole area of operation and are based on the declared water-related turnover of the company and are payable upon joining British Water, pro-rata in the first year to 31st March and annually thereafter on 1st April when subscription fee invoices are issued.
There is a minimum subscription fee based on water-related turnover of £100,000 and a maximum subscription based on water-related turnover of £53m.
For the purposes of calculating subscriptions the definition of WATER RELATED TURNOVER is as follows:
All work relating to
- water supply, treatment and distribution
- wastewater collection and treatment, sludge processing
- quality management of freshwaters and their impact on near-coastal waters
- the preservation and restoration of the water environment and water-related eco-systems
The subscription is made up of two elements - a BASIC FEE and a LEVY based on declared water-related turnover.
Applicants for membership are asked to complete the Financial Information section of the application form, the information from which will be used to calculate the subscription fee. For new members there is also a one-off administration fee of £150.
