Welcome to the British Water FOG Forum
British Water has established a FOG Forum, with a Steering Group and Four Working Groups.
Members can participate in the working groups and contribute to the planning, programming and current projects (listed below). They will also have access to the FOG Forum website where details of all the FOG Forum activities are listed.

The objectives of the Forum are:
- Ongoing reduction of FOG compounds in sewers and internal drains;
- Educating consumers and operators on their role in FOG reduction;
- Promotion of FOG compounds for recycling;
- Promotion of best practice and the influencing of standards;
- Influencing effective legislation and regulation.
The Steering Group members and operation
The FOGSG consists of trade associations, government representatives, and an academic liaison with an independent chairman being elected from within this group. It is expected that further organisations that will also be interested in joining the Steering Group and should apply through the Secretariat.
The FOG Forum operates through working groups (FOGWG) established by the Steering Group, which Forum Members will be able to join. The four initial Working Groups are:
A. Control of FOG at Source, Communication and Training (CSCT)
B. Equipment Selection, Installation and Maintenance (ESIM)
C. Product Performance Assessment Procedures (PPAP)
D. Disposal and Reuse of FOG and FOGc Compound (DRFC)
Membership
Membership is open to those active or with an interest in this growing problem area and suppoert the objectives of the Forum. Currently, the membership subscription of the FOG Forum will be £100 +VAT per year, subject to review each year. Details of membership will be forwarded to those who have shown an interest and are entered on the FOG Forum database.
