Aqua Europa
Aqua Europa is a confederation of trade associations and was re-launched in May 2006 as the association representing the interests of the water and wastewater supply chain within Europe. It is headquartered in Brussels and its Board of Directors meets three times a year to discuss the latest policy developments emanating from member countries and the EU and direct the work of the Task Groups. Its secretariat is provided by British Water.
It operates through a number of Task Groups which have the remit to monitor developments in the water and wastewater industry and provide expertise to the various working groups of CEN in the forumulation of new and amended regulation for the industry.
New regulations proposed by the European Commission and also those being introduced by member states are carefully scrutinized and appropriate steps taken to ensure that no barriers to trade are introduced within the EU. An electronic newsletter provides members with a regular overview of areas under scrutiny.
The Bulletin of the European Union provides an insight to the activities of the European Commission and the community institutions. It is published regularly on-line as provisional documents until the second reading and approval by the relevant parties when a finalised version is published.
